C&T’s Prospero named ‘global education innovation’ at Helinski Summit

The Worcester-based Theatre company, C&T,  have had their online educational tool - called Prospero - awarded the status of 'global education innovation for 2019'  at an exclusive summit in Helsinki.

At a spectacular three day event in the Finnish capital, C&T's unique tool, designed to enable artists and educators to build their own creative learning resources online and share them, was acclaimed as one of the world's leading educational innovations.  At a packed convention centre, hosted by Nokia, C&T presented Prospero to hundreds of the world's top educators, innovators and entrepreneurs.

C&T's Artistic Director Dr Paul Sutton and Director Max Dean celebrated with a host of top dignitaries including the mayor of Helsinki.

Dr Paul Sutton,  said of the acclaim  "We are tremendously excited by this prestigious award.  Everyone at C&T believes passionately in the creative possibilities Prospero offers, so it is wonderful to have this potential recognised by a body of such credibility and repute as HundrED.  We were thrilled to share this work at the summit in Helinski."

"Prospero has already begun changing peoples approaches to education through its mix of drama and technology : we're working with partners in New Zealand, New York, Kenya, Australia, Vienna and beyond. We hope this acclaim will enable us to spread this message further. We already have interest in China, for example."

The award comes from HundrED. HundrED's goal is to help improve education and inspire a grassroots movement through encouraging pedagogically sound, ambitious innovations to spread across the world.  Each year HundrED selects 100 global, inspiring education innovations and acclaim their value and impact with the world.  HundrED's research team review hundreds of innovations from all over the globe.  The team discovers and understands innovations using a multifaceted approach through desk-based research, speaking with experts, attending events and receiving applications.

After this highly rigorous process just 100 innovations are selected for recognition, meeting the following criteria: innovativeness, impact and scalability: in short can it be used to change education through originality, quality and in areas or countries around the world?

C&T's Prospero technology has been selected as a winner for 2019.
